About Controlled Combustion
In 1980 4 co-workers (Michael Bendjouya, Sal Casali, Harold LeDuc, and Patrick Goodwin) fed up with the way their current employer was treating their clients and employees, sat in the basement of one of their grandfather’s house brainstorming and it was there Controlled Combustion was born. Their mission was to provide outstanding customer service to all their clients with the motto “We always go the extra mile to meet our customer needs”. With that belief in mind, they hit the ground running and began the business. By the time the end of 1980 rolled around their client base outgrew the basement and Controlled Combustion relocated to 2377 Washington Avenue, Bronx NY, near Fordham University and the Zoo.
Since 1980 Controlled Combustion has strived to be the leader in the Commercial Heating Industry. It’s because of this pursuit of excellence our shop maintains a Class “A” installer’s license in New York City and is licensed throughout the New York Metropolitan Area. We also hold the National Board Accredited “R” Stamp for Boiler & Pressure Vessel Modification & Repair, ASME H-Stamp for Steel Boiler & Pressure Vessel Fabrication, and the ASME U-Stamp for Manufacturer of Metallic Pressure Vessels. This goal to be the best is passed down to our service personnel who are members of the Metal Trades Branch – Local 638-A.F.L. – C.I.O, and many of our technicians are ASME code welders, as well as holding various other welding, safety, and FDNY certifications. Also, we mandate our technicians to attend rigorous in-house training as well as ongoing instruction from factory authorized experts and educational institutions to keep their technical knowledge current and their maintenance skills sharp.
Now 40 years later we still believe customer service is of the utmost importance to us, never forgetting our humble beginnings or our vow to always put our customers first, Controlled Combustion has grown to have over 500 clients servicing more than 2,500 buildings for them. Within our 30,000 square foot facility are 170 highly trained full-time employees and an extensive parts supply room to ensure replacement parts are readily available for almost any job. Controlled Combustion operates 24/7 365 days a year so you can be assured your boiler, burner, water heater, and other heating equipment is in good hands.
